Dear Friends,
We have big news! NACLA is thrilled to announce that Greg Grandin, NYU Professor of History and Pulitzer Prize finalist, will soon begin a three-year term as the new Executive Editor of the NACLA Report on the Americas (http://greggrandin.com/). Greg’s passion for social justice in Latin America has long motivated his scholarly work, writing, and advocacy, and we’re thrilled to bring him to the helm of the NACLA Report as it enters its 46th year.
What’s more, we’re excited that this change will bring us into a formal relationship with the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS) at NYU (http://clacs.as.nyu.edu), and we’ve just moved our New York offices to their headquarters. Our long history of collaboration with CLACS makes them the perfect partner for NACLA moving forward, and the support that they are providing will help to ensure NACLA’s future sustainability. Additionally, we’ll be able to work closely together with renowned NYU faculty and harness the talents of CLACS students to make NACLA publications and programs even better.
Of course, NACLA will maintain the editorial independence that you have come to rely on, but this change offers exciting new opportunities for NACLA to reach a wider audience and make a bigger impact with our work. To make the transition and start this new phase in NACLA’s history, we need your help! Can we count on you for a donation to support us today?

This is obviously an exciting time, but as you know, NACLA has always operated on a shoestring budget – sales of the magazine and your donations have always provided the bulk of the revenue we use to carry out our mission. With the administrative support CLACS is providing, we will be able to use more of the funds you donate for our publications and programs.
So to be able launch this next phase, we need you to give generously today. Consider this an investment in NACLA’s future, a future that looks all-the-more bright with the editorial leadership of Greg Grandin and the institutional collaboration of CLACS. We’re looking forward to the next 45 years. We hope you are to, and you’ll make an investment in us today by visiting https://nacla.org/nacla/articles/donate.
Pa’ adelante!
