As the Trump administration pushes forward with its agenda, it’s important to keep in mind that the political shift happening in the United States is part of a larger global pattern— the resurgence of Right wing politics. The NACLA Report’s winter issue, Right Turn: The New and the Old in Latin America’s Right-Wing Revival” was all about this shift in Latin America and the United States, on how it came about and on what the future of the political Left may look like under a New Right.

Cowan discusses the emerging right-wing in Brazil, known as the "Beef, Bullets, and Bible" caucus, the ouster of President Dilma Rousseff last summer, and what the future might hold for Brazilians.
