Chávez's Legacy for Venezuelan Youth

Because Hugo Chavez served as president for 14 years, many young people only know a Venezuela under his leadership. Al-Jazeera hosted a panel on the legacy of Chavez for the younger generation. NACLA writer Keane Bhatt spoke about the country's transformation under Chavez, including higher literacy rates and the doubling of enrollment in higher education, as well as the broader social programs he implemented.
