Since the Latin American Catholic Bishops met in Medellin, Colombia in August and September 1968 to call for basic changes in the region, the Catholic Church has been increasingly polarized between those who heard their words from the point of view of the suffering majorities and those who heard them from the point of view of the vested interests. The former found in the Medellin documents, as in certain documents of the Second Vatican Council and the social ency- clicals of Popes Paul VI and John XXIII, the legitimation of their struggles for justice and their condemnations of exploitation and struc- tures of domination.
WASHINGTON, March 15- A Miami-based company that Is reported to have a link with Haiti's National Defense and Interior Minister is employing a group of former American marines to train the Haitian armed forces, and the United States Government is investigat- ing the legality of the arrange- ment. This was disclosed by State Department officials, who said today in reply to inquiries that they had asked the Bureau of Customs last month to look into the training operations of the company, Aerotrade, Inc.
