Rius Receives NACLA's 2012 'La Conciencia del Pueblo' Award

This evening NACLA is holding a gala in New York City to celebrate our 45th anniversary. Among the honorees are Noam Chomsky, Javier Sicilia—from Mexico's Movement for Peace With Justice and Dignity—and Mexican political cartoonist Eduardo del Río "Rius."
Unfortunately, Rius will be unable to join us at tonight’s event. The following acceptance speech was filmed recently at his home in Mexico. Rius has collaborated with NACLA for several decades and is the 2012 recipient of NACLA's "La Conciencia del Pueblo" Award.
