Two excellent sources of information on university-conducted foreign affairs research are:

University Centers of Foreign Affairs Research: A Directory. This book was just published (October 1968) by the Office of External Research of the U.S. Department of State. It includes extended descriptions of 191 university programs on foreign affairs, and comes with a good index, a chronology of the "Development of Foreign Affairs Research Centers," and an introductory essay describing the development of a network of university centers on foreign affairs which supply the State Department with data and trained personnel. Available for $1.00 from the U.S. Government Printing Office, Washington, D.C. 20402.

The International Programs of American Universities (2nd Edition). This excellent directory, compiled by the Institute of Advanced Projects of the East-West Center in Honolulu and the International Programs office of Michigan State University, was published in 1966. It is indexed by institution and country, and contains valuable introductory and bibliographic material. Available from Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan.
