Join us for the launch of our Winter issue, "Radical Cities," a collaboration with NYU's Urban Democracy Lab. Speakers include issue co-editor Gianpaolo Baiocchi (NYU Urban Democracy Lab) and issue contributors Tshombe Miles (Baruch College, CUNY), Valeria Procupez (John Hopkins University), and Adriana Goñi Mazzitelli (University of the Republic, Uruguay).
Gianpaolo Baiocchi is an activist and scholar based in New York City, where he directs NYU Gallatin's Urban Democracy Lab. His most recent book is We, The Sovereign.
Valeria Procupez is lecturer of Anthropology at Johns Hopkins University and Co-director of the Project "Alternative housing policies in Buenos Aires, Argentina," 21st Century Cities Initiative, JHU.
Tshombe Miles is an assistant professor in the Black and Latino Studies department at Baruch College-CUNY. He is the author of two books, A luta Contra a Escavatura e o Racismo No Ceará (Democrático Rocha, 2012), and Race and Afro-Brazilian Agency in Brazil (Routledge Press, 2019).
Adriana Goñi Mazzitelli is a cultural anthropologist and has a doctorate in urban planning. She is an adjunct professor at the Instituto de Teoría de la Arquitectura y Urbanismo in the Faculty of Archutecture at the University of the Republic in Uruguay.
