The Other (Invisible) Refugees

October 20, 2016

Over 120,000 children have fled the Northern Triangle of Central America, unaccompanied, since 2014. Over 40,000 of them have now either been deported or listed for deportation. Of those coming today, 75% are being held in Mexico at the request of the United States.

We invite you to learn more October 20th at 6:30 PM at the NYU Gallatin Auditorium at 1 Washington Place, New York, New York.

Featuring a short documentary and talk by Brent and Craig Renaud, the release of Jorge Argueta’s new book Somos Como las Nubes/We are Like the Clouds, and words from Damien Cave of the New York Times, Elisabeth Garcia of the Queen’s Public Library, Jenny Lizarraga of the IBBY Reforma committee, Hans Van der Weerde of the International Rescue Committee, and possibly New York City Council Member Carlos Menchaca.
