Don't miss our summer issue: Wall Off Trump - Confronting the Donald Trump Era!

Dear Naclistas,

We are pleased to announce the release of our summer issue, "Wall Off Trump: Confronting the Donald Trump Era.

Months after his inauguration, Donald Trump’s election continues to reverberate worldwide, with perhaps special intensity in Latin America and the Latinx U.S.

From his early broadsides against Mexican migrants as “criminals”  and “ rapists” to the chilling “build the wall” chants of his campaign rallies, Latinxs and Latin Americans have long borne the brunt of Trump’s xenophobic rage.

And yet, as we uncover in this issue of the NACLA Report, what is most shocking about Trump is not that he marks a break with U.S. policy toward the region and its people, but rather that he is its epitome—its maximum, disastrous expression.

In this issue, we take a deep dive into the challenges posed by President Trump's xenophobic, anti-immigrant, racist, militarized political agenda. From a wall that in many places already exists on the U.S.-Mexico border to immigrant detention centers to the shores of Cuba, what can we expect from the Trump administration's policy in Latin America? And - how is the resistance movement building on past efforts to establish sanctuary for immigrants in the U.S., standing up for undocumented rights, and rethinking trade agendas to push back against the consequences of Trump's devastating policies?

While some of the articles will be available open access for a limited time, we encourage you to support our work and subscribe to NACLA. We have more content than ever, and would be honored to share it with you. If you are a student, ask your university to subscribe so you and your classmates can gain access to our content.

As always, en solidaridad,

NACLA
