Selected Readings on Puerto Rico & NACLA's Summer Campaign

#SupportNACLA With A Donation To Our Summer Fundraising Campaign

August is here, which means the Fall issue of the NACLA Report isn’t far behind. We’ll be focusing on Labor in the Americas this time around, with a collaboration with NYU’s Urban Democracy Lab on the horizon for our Winter issue. In the meantime, we’re still in the midst of a summer fundraising campaign. As you may or may not know, readers now have the option of becoming a monthly sustaining donor. One-time donations in any amount will also help to support the work of NACLA.

This year, we’ve been busier than ever providing the same level of high quality news coverage and expert analysis that many rely on to stay informed about all things Latin America. One example is an urgent article by Marisol Lebrón that NACLA recently published giving context to the Island’s political awakening amid two weeks of massive protests. We subsequently published a reading list of NACLA's Puerto Rico coverage from the past few years to provide additional perspective on the unprecedented scale of the uprisings on the Island. The response from readers like you was overwhelming, which is why we are asking for your support.

With your donation, NACLA will be able to publish more reliable, knowledgeable, and insightful content from voices around the region. Most importantly, nacla.org is an online platform that allows for immediate responses to current events in Latin America—free of charge, with no paywall in sight (we promise). A donation in any amount ensures that we can continue this work in addition to the quarterly publication of our award-winning print magazine, the NACLA Report on the Americas. That includes our Spring and Summer issues, which delved into themes related to borders and corruption, respectively. We also look forward to sharing more exciting announcements in the weeks ahead. Lastly, if you cannot make a donation, help us spread the word. Give us a shout out on social media using the hashtag #SupportNACLA.
